ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Sam Squire

As a counselor, my work is grounded in the belief that we all need someone to talk to. It is grounded in the belief that when we have a safe, judgement-free environment we can explore our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, which allows us to process emotions, heal trauma and become the most authentic version of ourselves.

My approach to counseling is grounded in values such as compassion, radical acceptance, trust, balance, mindfulness, play, fun and humour.

A little bit more about me and my journey…

I’m from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and I currently live in Vancouver, BC. When I graduated from high school I went straight into pre-pharmacy at the University of Winnipeg. After a couple of years, I realized I was more interested in learning about Eastern medicine than Western medicine. I took a break from university to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Greece with Yoga Alliance International. Over the past decade, I have completed various yoga, Pilates, meditation and mindfulness trainings. Eventually, I returned to university to complete my post-secondary education, and in 2017 I graduated with a diploma in Public Relations and Communications Management. I have worked for large corporate companies, I have owned and operated multiple wellness-related businesses, and since graduating from counseling in 2022, I have decided to focus on my private practice and sharing therapeutic resources such as guided meditations and various courses.

I believe that with some support, tools and guidance we can work collaboratively together to help you heal, process & grow.
